Travel and cameras are my weaknesses.
I am always on the hunt to find the most affordable options to support my habit.
In college I was the only of my friends to have a film camera and truth be told, I am sure I still have loads of film to be developed and before cell phone cameras came with all these amazing features, my DSLR was almost always attached at my hip.
I have been obsessed with DSLR's since I moved to New Zealand and bought my first Nikon, it was a Nikon D3200 which today would be equivalent of the Nikon D3500. This was a great entry level camera for me to learn the basics on.
I currently shoot with a Nikon D7500 and a Nikon D780 and I have been on adventures around the globe with one or the other.
Of course with a DSLR, the lenses matter just as much as the camera. My go-to travel lenses are:
I also have several tripods that I think are conducive to travel both for my DSLR and for my cell phone. My go-to travel tripod for the camera is TYCKA 56” Camera Tripod, it is lightweight and compact and best of all can be used as a monopod. My favorite cellphone tripod is the 64 inch, Selfie Stick Tripod.
While the cellphone tripod comes with a handy dandy cell phone remote, I am a firm believer in having backups. My favorites are the Phone Camera Remote Control(2 Pack). These are not only affordable but easily connect to your camera's bluetooth and will have you shooting content in your travel destinations in no time.
Let me know what your favorite travel photography items are in the comments, I am always on the hunt.
