In 2021, my team as part of my Leadership Lynchburg class in collaboration with the Pierce Street Gateway, I helped to co-found the Pierce Street Community Garden.
The Garden was the catalyst for me stepping into the role of Director for the Pierce Street Gateway.
The garden is a labor of love, we just completed our 2022 planting season and distributed 208 food packages, hosted 130 volunteers and amassed 323 volunteer hours. All of this from a 10-bed garden, I couldn't be prouder of the work we have been able to do in the community.
We host volunteers every Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. from April to October each year and we have seen the garden blossom with their help.
